Possibly not the J. C. of Rhode Island, but a predecessor.?) Thanks for your help.

    3. List Managers, Marlene, Joe, Clarke/Spilman/Ireland cousins, and OBIT members, Do not open any attachments, even if it says 'Take a look at the attachment' this is a ploy to get you to open it, then a message comes up the file is corrupt, but you have opened the door and a virus probably got thru. It has taken me all day to clean up the mess. (Look at the final line of this string of messages, you can see how the ploy message reads) The attachment (read message immediately below) was a virus I picked up via a surname/location board response. You are/may be/probably infected now. The virus(s) were named: W32/BadTrans@MM, BackDoor-NK.svr, DUNpaws.av, JS/Kak@M and JS/Kak.bat.a - I found info about how to remove by using google.com and putting in the name of the virus for a search. They seem to be entwined and removing one effects the most of the others. Run a scan with your virus detector and follow the instructions. My apologies to others who got caught just as I did. Apparently these virus(s) are designed to reproduce and go out through other messages in our email boxes. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marlene Weaber Leber <mwleber@dejazzd.com> To: kloverholt <kloverholt@msn.com> Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2001 5:45 PM Subject: Re: [OBITL] ME- Waterville- Kennebec Co. 3. Ruben, I do recall trading emails with you before. I wish I could say that I know more now than I did then, but I haven't had much success in tracking down this bunch. I believe there were some Clarks from Kentucky living in Carroll Co. Arkansas at the same time my family was there from 1860-1870 but I couldn't make any connection. One trait our families share, is that they don't seem to be able to stay in one place very long. I'll save your email address, and when I get some more information I'll pass it along. 1. [CLARKE] Clark Help?
    2. Dave & Linda Simmons
    3. I have been looking for my grandmother for some time. I really don't know where to turn. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Her name was Birdie Arini Jola Clark. She was born July 1, 1882. She married Jahue Smith in Union City (Obion County) TN, June 26, 1901. She had three children, John Alvie, Alla Jane, and my mother Thelma Pearl. She died April 17, 1909 at the age of 27. She is buried in Rush Creek Cemetery between Hickman and Casey, KY in Fulton County. I have a picture of her with a Janie Walker whom my mother always thought was her mother & grandmother. I also have a picture of two young girls sent to my mother and her brother, John Alvie andon the back it says "From Ruth May and Lulah Bell Clark to Thelma and Alva Smith". I am guessing this may be her sisters. In her family Bible there are names like Nancy J. Oakley, Janie Walker and Mary Oakley. Mostly just dates of death or marriage for these people. There are names of Shadi McMillain, Johh Y. Oakley and Nola Walker. If anyone has anything like this in their line, I would appreciate hearing from you or if you have a suggestion, it, too is appreciated. I do have a copy of her marriage license, but there is no information to help me. I have checked the 1900 census for Fulton County, KY. Found nothing. I look forward to hearing from someone on this matter. Thanks, Linda Minton Simmons dave@hcis.net

    3. Yes, thankyou He also had a sister named Lucy and one named Ann after their mother--there were four sisters alltogether. Acording to my sister who has been doing geneology for twenty years We are of the Irish Baron with his coat of arms from ulster. We were given this by my dads half brother born in the late 1880's. My older sister who joined a church that they believe they need to do this research--a real labor of love-has been researching for only several years says we have Clarkes on both sides of the family(THE CLARK"S _-and the Clarkes. I han found a cousin that also told me that a cousin of ours married a clark from Mass. It would appear that our scots blood comes in through the Dandridge, West and Gov, Spotswood, and then through the second Clark line. please excuse my typing as i just had my second hand surgery in four weeks. neither hand feels to good right now so will so will close for now. Thanks again.Debbie _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

    1. [CLARKE] The Fourth
    2. Cyrus Clarke
    3. Hello Cousins and all others, As is my holiday custom, I want to wish all of you a very happy Fourth of July. I've been in upstate New York recently where I visited the Clarke family cemetery outside Unadilla Forks. A few miles down the road, on a hilltop surrounded by wildflowers, I also stood by the graves of Clarke relatives Captain Daniel Brown, his wife Abigail, and their family. All the moments spent in these places were stirring, but on a cloudy afternoon, as I stood over the fallen stones of Ethan and Phebe Clarke, veterans of the revolution, the gifts became clear. These men and women who now lie in such a peaceful place, gave us freedom of mind, spirit, and faith. These are gifts which can never be taken for granted or lost. It is incumbent on all of us to ensure, for our descendants, that these freedoms never be compromised by any entity. We must always believe in a day like today and teach our children the values which make it possible. Let us embrace the struggles of all our brothers and sisters, regardless of race, and continue to bring the spirit of our ancestor's beliefs into the future. The work is not done until all people can join in "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". Truer words were never told; those words were born in the struggles of those who came before and live in the hearts of those who remember. With Very Best Regards, Cyrus Clarke

    2. Barry Clark
    3. Becky, As always with research the more information you have the more accurate you can be. For this the minimum I will need is the full name, dates of service, which part of the military he served in, Navy or Army. If you have a regiment or Ship that could save a day's work.
