    2. Kenny Hedgpeth
    3. Greetings ~ I don't know if this was in reference to my posting about Levi W. Clark b. 1835 Indiana . . . but the father's name I was told [many years ago] for him was Abraham . . . that's all I know . . . besides that Levi had a sister named Ann . . . I am starting to think the elderly cousin [at the time] of my grandfather, that relayed that info to me *might* have been confused, as Levi's wife's father was also named Abraham . . . which I have found is correct . . . what little data I have been able to search so far, *might* point to a Solomon in Niles Twp., Delaware Co., Indiana as being Levi's father . . . nothing positive yet . . . <sigh> but I will inevitably keep digging . . . <g> I was *still* young and green, and didn't ask enough questions 20 years ago, I guess . . All of those who might have known or heard something are long gone now . . . So now I listen with my ©¿©¬ to the silent calls, of the history books and micro film . . . <g> along with the internet . . . 1. [CLARKE] Nicholas Clark
    2. Nan Beavers
    3. Joe, I received probate papers(a lot of papers) on my Nicholas Clark. It seems he moved to Gonzoles, Tx. after 1850 census in Lafayette Co. Ark. He died down there on Feb. 10, 1854 without a will. Sence he had 1800 acres of land and lots of personal property, they had to probate everything. Susan his wife was made administrator of the estate untill because of ill health she turned the Administrator duties over to their son James J. Clark. It mentions all the children, who by now are grown and married. Amanda was married to Henry ONeil and Eliza was married to Jones Sadbury and Susan was still at home with Old Susan(Mother). And Clarinda was a Mauser by marriage. James J. Clark(son) was a resident of state(TX.) Nicholas Jr.(son) was dead already and Thornberry A.(son) and the girls were there to sign the papers, but not sure if they lived there. I know Thornberry A. Clark did for a while, but died in Lafayette Co. Ark. in 1855.I think he was there in 1852, because his son Thornberry Lewis(my Ggrandpa) was born there in 1852. There is also a Jephthah Clark mentioned as heir with the other children. But we do not know of him. Nothing mentioned about were they came from. Maybe this will shake up some interest! Nan from Ark.

    3. Hi Jim et al.. I would guess that there is no relationship between the Puritan MAss Plymouth Colony and the Catholic colony in MD. I would guess that your Robert was Scotch-Irish since the English mostly used the King's names (George, William, James, etc) for their kids and the Catholic Scotch-Irish tended to use Heroes and biblical names (Michael, etc). There is a lot of overlap in names, though, and I'm just talking in generalities... I have as the father of Thomas: (Caution...may contain Errors) Name John CLARKE, my #277 Sex: M Born Abt 1575 Rotherhithe, Surrey, ENG Baptized 26 Mar (N)1576 St Mary Rotherhithe, Surrey, ENG Died 1623 Jamestown, VA Other Mayflower 1st Mate/Pilot Occupation Mariner Wife: ________ __________ Per "Founders Of Early American Families", John Clarke, Came on "Mayflower" as pilot and mate 1620; Plymouth (Mass); removed to Jamestown (Va.), d. there 1623. Regarded as father of Thomas. (TAG 43:20) granted lands for service in the Virginia colony from the First Virginia Co. NOT the John of Ratcliff ENG, who m. Mary Morton 19 Feb (N)1599, at St Dunstan's Ch Stepney Mdlsex ENG... I have as his children: Thomas (mentioned below), William, John, Susanna, Andrew, James, and Nathaniel. I don't have a Robert listed nor do I have any more info on any of them, other than on Thomas.. Since Robert came as a servant he probably came from a poor family and was indentured until he worked off his passage costs. I would research Father Thomas Copley and find out where he came from and maybe you can find the same location for your Robert... B. 1811 SC 2. Mahala Richardson b. 1834 GA. She was the dau. of John and Eliz. Catherine Richardson of Marion Co. GA. The parents were born in SC. On the 1830 Census James was listed with two females under 10 years in his household. Since he did have children of other families (Kidd and Morrow) living in his household in 1850 and 1870 I cannot verify that these children were his. With his second marriage to Mahala Richardson, after the death of Elvina c. 1864, he had 3 children: James, Susan, and Ely (E-Lee). James died at 21 of fever. Susan married late to a Mr. Fincher of Doerun no children, and Ely. He married Ella Mae Griner of Mitchell Co. GA and had 2 children: James Elias and Nora Alzeta. He was a farmer in Marion Co. He came there when the lands opened up for settlement after the Creek Indian War c. 1830 or a few years earlier. I can find no records of this man in SC and very few in GA. Is anyone connected to this Clark family of SC and GA?
