I've got the 1851 Census on CD for the counties of Gloucestershire, Bristol and Somerset (England), and would be happy to do a lookup if anyone needs it. Sheila Lowe CLARKE/KING/AHRENS/SCHNEIDER
Hi, Diona, it was with excitement that I received your message re: Martha. There are a few discrepancies but not many. She married Rev. Charles Currie not John Currie, her son's name was Andrew Cruikshank. He was the son of her first husband. He was my father and died last August. She had 2 daughters with Mr. Currie. Aileen and Verna. Verna is still living. She lives in Surrey. I live in Richmond B.C. My father was never very forthcoming about family history but it is something I have always been interested in. My parents married in 1941 and I was born in 1942 so I never knew my grandmother or grandfather on my fathers side. His father died when my father was about 5 years old. I would love to know about my grandmother and any other Beswathericks and the history of the family coming to Canada. I understand there is also a Beswatherick relative living in Manitoba. I don't know if there are others or not. Are there any still in Ireland? I believe the family ca! me from Ireland. Did you know Russel Beswatherick in Victoria? Originally from Manitoba. He was my great uncle. Do you know anything about John Cruikshank, Martha's first husband?
I believe your grandmother Martha Beswatherick was my grandfather's sister. My grandfather's name was James. DOB - 1882 His sister Martha DOB is June 4 1890. Edie Clarke was my sister. I am the daughter of Andrew James Matthew and Ida Mae Beswatherick. The infor I have states that Martha married John Cruikshank and then remarried Rev. John Currie. They had a son Andrew Currie. Martha passed away in 1938.

Does anyone have Clarke's from Hampshire (specifically, Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth, Aldershot, Isle of Wight) or Lancashire (Bury), England? How about Montreal, Canada? Sheila Lowe CLARKE/KING/AHRENS/SCHNEIDER
I have another Anthony Clarke in London, but he is a generation older since his oldest child was born in 1833. (I'm guessing he may have been born between 1800 and 1815). My Anthony William Clarke was supposedly a surgeon, according the occupation section on his daughter's marriage license. He married to Frances ("Fanny") Harriet STONE (CHAVE?) on 7 Jun 1832 London, England; the license index references the presence of another possible relative, "Arthur B. CLARK(relationship not known)". Anthony and Fanny had 3 children: 1.) Frances Anne Mary CLARKE (my ancestor) born at "Halgen house", Ashford, Kent 20 Jul 1833; christened 17 Jul 1834 Slapton, Devon, England; married 13 Feb 1856 at parish of St. Mary Newington, Surrey, England (near Sittingbourne) to Niels Peter AARIS, merchant/ shipper of Danish descent; Lived in Margate, Kent, England and Copenhagen, Denmark, where she probably died; died at age 70 (about 1903-4) & supposedly buried in mausoleum in Clarke family plot, England (where?) 2.) Sidney Edward CLARKE born 24 Aug 1839; christened 7 Sep 1839 All Hallows The Less, London, London, England m. & d. unknown 3.) Charles Guyon CLARKE born 13 Feb 1849 (1844?); christened 1 Jan 1844 St. Michael Queenhithe, London, London, England m. & d. unknown Your Anthony could easily be a relative (who knows? maybe even named after my Anthony...?) If run across any info that looks like my surgeon Anthony Clarke (or any of his children), I would really appreciate you passing it on. Thanks and good searching! Hi. I'm trying to locate information about my g-grandmother, Nellie B. WEAVER. Nellie married my g-grandfather, Joe (Joseph, Josephus?) HARGIS 06 Dec 1901 in Terre Haute, IN. All I know about Nellie is that her parents were John WEAVER and Jane CLARK, who lived, I believe, in Clark Co, IL. Nellie and Joe were the parents of my grandfather, Harry HARGIS. A copy of his birth record shows that Nellie was born in Wabash Township (no state listed) and was 18 when my grandfather was born. A copy of Joe and Nellie's marriage record says she was born in IL, and her place of residence was Clark Co, IL. It also said that she would be 18 on her next birthday. If anyone has any info about ANY of these people, I'd sure appreciate hearing from you. Thanks! Donna Brewer wdwgrandma@home.com
Sorry Richard none of our Clarkes moved to Northampton. Sheila
I am also looking for the CLARKE Line have you any other information that I could see if there is a link. My Gr Granparents were CLARKE from Northampton I am just wondering if a brother or something that moved
hi! My Clark's are from New Hampshire. Some of them moved to Mass. but not until a more recent date. I am working on getting them back farther than the 1800's, which I seem to be having a problem with. I have a Daniel Clark that was born in North Woodstock abt. 1835 and married a woman by the name of Sabrina. I went searching the cemetery in North Woodstock this past weekend and did not have any luck finding him. Any information would be grateful! OH, And my mother informed me yesterday that my great (G?)-Uncle moved to California and died falling in a silo. His name was either Eugene or Daniel. They were born abt. 1835 and 1874. Any help there would be grateful also! Thanks for everything, Jeannine thesimpkins15@att.net

Hello Clarke / Clark Cousins, Please do not reply to the list regarding this email - respond privately to CLARKE-admin@rootsweb.com if you have a comment or question, thank you. I last sent this message on May 26th. I would like to reiterate again, do not open any emails with attachments. Since sending this last message below, there is another virus, --- W32/SirCam@MM (Sir Cam Virus) ---. SirCam will have a "double extension" like- CLARK.view.jpeg - the two .. dots give it away - double extension. If you should receive an attachment, please alert your friendly list admin, with the file name - do not forward the email to me. I will alert the sender and take care of things for all of us. Send to CLARKE-admin@rootsweb.com Of course, delete the message, and empty your trash and then scan your computer with the latest patch or dat file from you anti-virus software company. ( If you need to alert any other admin, just substitute the list name for CLARKE - such as SMITH-admin@rootsweb.com ) I no longer use MSOutlook Express, the most targeted email program, and now view all emails on the webfirst to see if there are attachments before I download to my (vunerable) computer. --sent May 26th-- I am sending this to the list _not_ to start a topic of conversation, but to inform, as yesterday I received 2 messages that a virus is going around called the BadTrans virus. I know this is old news, but two listmembers have received attachments - today. In both cases it arrived looking as if it was from a listmember with a reply to a previous post. They did not come through our list at RootsWeb. It favors MS Outlook Express and unopened mail in your mailbox. You do not need to open it to send it on to others. You do not even need anyone in your address book. I have switched to using EUDORA email program and, reading my email first on my ISP Internet Mail Webpage first before downloading to my computer. If you have anti-virus protection the "dat" files must be current. These files are ususally downloaded from either McAfee or Norton, depending on which program you use. The best explination I've seen yet... go to http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=EUDORA-MAIL enter BadTrans 15 matches come up - the best is titled.. [SUBJECT]: [EUDORA] FROM VIRUS-DISCUSSION LISTOWNER - EVERYONE PLEASE READ !!!!! Here is a discussion group if you need to get further information, or, if you want to check out their archives. Very high volume list. http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Internet_Help/VIRUS-DISCUSSION.html Here is a good link to check out. http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/announce.html#virus If anyone has a comment please respond privately to the admin address below.
