Hi there. This seems like a long shot, but I'm wondering if there is a connection to my Clarke family. All I know is that my great-grandfather, Thomas David Clarke, was apparently born in Solano County, California around 1855. He later moved to Canada, where he died in 1910. Two census records in Canada state that his parents were born in the U.S., but I may have recently found him on the 1880 census in Bodie, CA, which states that his parents were born in Canada! As you can see, I don't have a lot of information on this elusive ancestor, so I am trying all avenues. Thank you for any information you may be able to provide, Margaret Clarke mc2cold@hotmail.com
I have a Patrick Clark in my mothers line. He was from Ireland and married Bridget Shields. Mary Clark was born of them about 1879. She married Joseph Norman in 1879. They eventualy moved to NYC, NY where my mother was born. I am researching the Clarke family from Hudson County, New Jersey. Grandmother Margaret came to the USA in 1891. Lived with a Clarke family, whom I assume were related to her. There was a Mary, daughter Mary and a Patrick. Anyone researching for Clarke families in NJ, I would like to hear from you. Thanks, Carol Sp.
