Clarke. He came from Munstercones or Munterconnaght (sp?), County Cavan, Ireland. I believe he may have had a sisters named Margaret and Ann and possibly a brother by the name of Michael. My James B. Clarke lived in East Taylor Township in the Johnstown area. He married Margaret McGowan, who immigrated from County Sligo. They were married in St. John's Cathedral in Johnstown in 1853. Possibly this is the James Clarke for whom you found immigration materials. I would like to hear from you. Thank you.

Hello, I am the webmaster of the Wakeman, Ohio site and joined this list to post this information. The Wakeman Library has been involved in a project to post genealogy and history information of the area, so that it is available to the public, and preserved in the process. One of our local residents had a copy of the Diary of Laura (Mrs. H. M.) Clark, dated 1818, in which she talked of her first year here in Wakeman, after migrating from Milford, CT. Recently, a researcher found our site and wrote that his family had the diary of her trip from Milford CT to Wakeman, OH. They donated the text of the diary and it is now posted on our site. After almost 200 years, the diary is now altogether again. The internet is truly an amazing tool. Please check our site for some interesting reading. The link is http://wakeman-ohio.com/wakeman-ohio/ Also, forward it on to anyone you know who might be interested in the history of our area. Thank you, Claudia Garner Webmaster _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
