    3. I don't see an immediate connection but my family has several "William Perry Clarks". They also liked Joseph Marion Clark and used it often. Samuel Clark b 1810 TN, m. 1831 Fayette Co, IN to Louisa Thommason William Clark b 1811 TN, m 1835 Fayette Co, IN to Sarah Abrams Joseph Clark b 1813 TN, m . 1838 Fayett eCo, IN to Mitilda Henderson Their father may have been Benjamin Clark b VA. There might be a connection to Perry since the name is used frequently. ----------------------------------- I am not sure where William Clark- had children: Rebecca, Joseph A., Mary, John, Sarah, Joseph Clark d 1843 Hancock Co, IN children were: William Perry Clark b 1838 Hancock Co, IN Joseph Marion Clark b 1840 " Benjamin Clark d 1843 " Joseph and William Perry Clark both died in Bethany, Harrison Co, MO. He was a 16 year old soldier during the Civil War and never left Spotsylvania County after the War, so he doesn't qualify as your George, but since the family tends to re-use the same names, he could be a cousin. 3. Hi List; I am looking for any information on an Abner Clark that was born ca. Jan. 1796 somewhere in Massachusetts. He married Cynthia Skidmore on 8 Jan. 1823 in Brandon Twp., Franklin Co. NY. Cynthia Skidmore was born in Vermont in 1800. At some point he moved to Madrid, NY. At least that's where the obituary says my g-g grandmother, Harriet E. (Clark) Bristol was born on 5 June 1827. There were 11 children in all. Charles b: 1823; Horace N. b: 1825; Chauncey b: 1825 d: 1839; Harriet E. b:1827; Mary J. b: 1830; Emeline b: 1831; Ruby C. b: 1833; Silas S. b: 1834; Cynthia M. b: 1836; Betsey S. b: 1837; and Chauncey B. b: 1840. Harriet married Deacon Francis Curtis Bristol in March 1851. I have possession of Harriet E. (Clark) Bristol's family bible and there are a number of obituaries, marriage notices, and unidentified pictures. I did find an Abner Clark, 74 living in Potsdam, NY with a Mariam Clark 66, on the 1870 St. Lawrence Co., NY census, but according to my informaiton, my Abner died on 31 March 1865, so I don't know if my date of death is wrong or the Abner in Potsdam is not my g-g-grandfather. Can anyone help? I would greatly appreciate any hints, leads, or info about who Abner's parents are and how he got to St. Lawrence Co., NY. Thanks. Jeanne

    3. I am grasping at staws but - My gr gr grandfather (George W. Clark) was born about 1832 in Virginia (although the writing in the 1860 Census is difficult to read). He married in Martinsburg about 1858/9. Sometime during the Civil War he migrated to western Maryland. I have nothing on his ancestors. I don't think the George W. Clark in this document is his father but as I said I'm grasping at straws. Does anyone else know of another George W Clark from Virginia, Maryland or North Carolina.
