I have a John Clark, reportedly born in Virginia, who moved to Indiana and had among his children Jacob, Abraham, John, Isaac, and a daughter, but I can't quite make out her name on the census. All those children were born in Indiana. The family moved to Guthrie County, Iowa around the mid 1800s. John's wife was Susannah, born in Pennsylvania. Abraham, my husband's direct ancestor, was one at least, who stayed in Iowa. Debby J.

He did seem to move around alot so he could have been from another county. Please check if you have a Wm in your family born in 1835. His middle initial might have been H for Harvey or Henry.
