I did a search and didn't find it in > Scotland. Isle of France was renamed MAURITIUS and thereafter was a British colony. My wife Mary Ferguson is Scots on her father's side, but her mother descended from a 12 yr old emancipated slave who was deported from Isle of France to New South Wales as a convict in 1833.
