Researching the MacGregors, Homes, Greggs, Cargills, Dunnings, Boyd, Clark, Woodside I was miffed today while researching in the History of Portland to find that Governor Shute knew full well of the impending Indian problems when he persuades the families to go to Casco in 1718 for the winter. Any details that are know of the ships "The Robert" or "The Macullum" would be appreciated. It seems the Scotch-Irish were more than frontier buffers but expendible. These families were form Ulster and originally the Greggs were from Ayrshire. Many of the leaders had fought in the seige of Londonderry. Any Info? patgregg@mediaone.net
