Dear Friends, I have a question that has been bugging me for some time. My family comes from Ireland. Where I don't know. It is also said that they were of Scotch- Irish blood. My G'father was born in 1711, but I cannot find out where in Ireland. Is it possible, or does anyone have any hard evidence that, because of the persecution of the McGregor clan in the 17th century, Septs of the clan (because they could not use the name McGregor) accepted or used the Transplantation of Scots to Ulster by James I, and then moved on to the American colonies from there?
