Debbie, don't forget the possibility of a connection for your McCurry to the McMurray family. I have records proving that two McMurrays, John & William, left the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in 1758 for the Carolinas. When they got there, they stated using strange spellings of the name McMurray, almost like a game. In the process, at times they used McCurry and, in using this name, they sold their land in Virginia that was originally acquired by their father, John McMurray.
