The first known Boyds I have found moving out of PA to the “South” were the four sons of George and Isabella Boyd of Compass, PA in about the 1740’s. I assume they were not the first Boyd to move South!! Does anyone know anything about these “early” Boyd migrations out of PA? And do you know form which County in PA and to where – town, county, and State – they moved to South. This will help determine when Boyds arrived in these “Southern States”.
