Yes. The inability to archive messages means any submission and subsequent answers or info will be forever lost. Folks need to switch and start any new conversations on the new email list. Richard may also not be able to save the old messages so if people can find and save their own emails it will allow for some archiving. Admins on Rootsweb are not able to get a clear answer on how to save the past data. Typical Ancestry screwup if u ask me.
