Good morning all Yesterday, I received this private message from Judith Harper of New Zealand “Hello Mike I wonder if you have accessed these obituary indexes from the County Monaghan library? They date from abt 1839 until later 1900s. I've been looking through the lists for my HARPER family and did note that there are plenty of BOYD names there. https://monaghan.ie/library/index-to-obituaries/ There are several papers included but the main one is 'The Northern Standard' - very useful and theres a bit about how to apply for any obits you identify and want copies of. Regards' Judith Harper Nelson, NZ” I am trying to do two other family trees at present, so I have not had time to look at this website to see what Boyds are listed. I do not know very much about County Monaghan, Ireland from the point of view of Boyd History and its own history. Or when Boyds arrived in this part of Ulster. I do know that Boyds arrived in County Down in 1606; in County Armagh in 1618 (or before); in County Tyrone in 1609 and there were Boyds in County Antrim from 1560. So, any Boyd settlement in County Monaghan could be in the early 1600’s. Please let the list know if you find any family in this website Thank you for your assistance.
