Good morning all Wilson Boyd of Buncombe Co, NC While taking data from both Volumes of The Heritage of Old Buncombe County, [NC], to put into the family of James Boyd and Rachel McGill – both from County Tyrone – I copied this Reynold’s family - In The Heritage of Old Buncombe County, [NC], Volume 1, 1981, ed Doris Cline Ward, pp 309-310, article # 539 on the Abraham Reynolds Family of Bent Creek Buncombe County NC and for his 11th child it says – “Susanah, born May 16, 1812, died 1865, married Wilson Boyd. They lived in Buncombe Co., and had a family of nine children.” There is no data on this Wilson Boyd, or whom his parents might be and the names of his nine children. We can make some “educated” GUESSES from the limited data on Susanah Reynolds. With her birth on 16 May 1812, this would suggest that Wilson was most likely born between 1800 and 1810 but no location is given. And it would appear they married in the 1830’s, but does not say which Church or locations. Assume in Buncombe Co., NC? So, is he a second Boyd family of Buncombe County, NC to the family of James Boyd and Rachel McGill and their two known sons – James Berry Boyd, b 1798 and Robert McGill Boyd, b 1800 – or could be a third son, how for whatever reason is not listed in James Boyd’s will of December 1840? Has anyone come across Wilson Boyd before? And can they provide any details about his family? Thank you for your assistance in determining where this Wilson Boyd’s family fits.
