Scotland County (Rural) Directory 1912 A postal directory of rural residences, farms and mansions with names of occupants. This includes areas of Scotland that the main post office directories do not necessarily cover. Typical entries include name, occupation, name of residence and address. Information has been obtained through the Postmasters in Scotland. Professional names in the cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the town of Greenock are not included. Searchable by address or name. Also included are over 150 pages of information on towns and villages, most with names of clergy, town clerk, registrars etc. An incredibly useful resource for locating non city-dwelling ancestors. Edinburgh and Leith Post Office Directory 1852 Almost 500 pages of details of heads of households, addresses and occupations from mid-19th century Edinburgh. A perfect companion and starting point to using the1851 census. Directories from the time are very rare and usually only found in governmeny archives. Included in this book is a general, street, trades and county directory.
