Jeff, There is a Jackson Boyd age 26, on the 1850 census for Sommerset Division 1, Pulaski Co. KY. In his household there is: wife, Sarah age 26; Aron age 6; Elizabeth age 4; Polly age 2; Jerry age 1. On the 1860 census, for Division 2, Pulaski Co. KY: Jackson age 36; Sarah age 35; Elisabeth age 15; Aaron age 12; Polly age 11; James age 8; Sarah age 7; Minerva age 4; Sophrona age 5months. I am jumping to the conclusion that you do not have access to any census records. You may want to check for Civil War pension and service records for Jackson and his son Aaron, both could have served. There are a number of Jackson Boyd's, so a word of caution is in order.
