Richard, Do you know if your Massachusetts Boyd's had a son named Samuel R. b. abt 1813 in Massachusetts. I've written about him, but no one answered and I don't know if my e mail is even getting out. Samuel R married Louisa Jane Haskins about 1838, they had 5 children all in Illinois.
