This is my first posting to this site. I am looking for info on my Mother's grandfather. His name was William Green Boyd b.1897, Fort Payne, AL, d. 1977, Sylacauga, AL. Married: Ila Rue Turner b. 1898, (I think maybe around Rome, GA. they lived with her family for a short time after marriage.) d. 1985, Oneona, AL. This is all that anyone knows about this family. They had 4 boys,7 girls. One being my grandmother, Mildred Wildene Boyd, b.1926, Etowah Co., AL. d. 1999, Jefferson Co., AL. If anyone has any info on this line of Boyd's please let me know. Have you tried looking at the 1930 census for Mildred? You could maybe work your way back through the census that way and get clues where they lived and then try historical societies in the counties you find them.
