    1. Bouquet Expedition
    2. My Boyd line is as follows: 5th GGF - Robert Boyd 4th GGF - John Boyd 3rd GGF - Robert Boyd 2nd GGF - Robert Patterson Boyd 1st GGF - James Thomas Boyd GF- Thomas James Boyd According to material found in a book, "The Boyd Family" from Captain Robert Boyd through James Davis Boyd and others by Carl L. Oakes, Jr. "John Boyd, like his father, fought in the French and Indian War. He appears in existing military records of those days as a Private in the Company of Captain Joseph Armstrong, which was organized in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. According to Egle, in his 'Notes and Queries,' John participated in the Bouquet expedition of 1764." John Boyd was born between 1725 & 1730, Irvine, Scotland; died---will probated 25 Apr, 1770, Cumberland County, PA; buried: Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, Cumberland County, PA, present day Franklin County. We visited the Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church in May and took pictures of the pew where my relations sat and also the pew of the minister, as well as that of Reverend John Craighead, who married a Jane Boyd. I have heard from several relations that John Boyd was a member of the Black Watch but I am not sure of that. What groups fought in the Bouquet Expedition? Thanks for your help.
