Rich- Thanks for reminding me to look at that website again. The info posted there about the Old Scots Rev. John Boyd would lead me to believe that he did not arrive in 1685 on the "Henry and Francis" with Walter Ker. However, I still would like to find a connection between him and Rev. William and Rev. John who preached in NJ a little later and had close ties with the Ker family. There is a family legend that says that the Rev. John Boyd of Old Scots was an ancestor to our Boyds in Chester Co SC. This was written in a Downing Book in 1923 and repeated in a Downing autobiography in the 1930's. I realize that it might not be true -- but I would like to prove/disprove it in hopes of finding out more about my Capt. Robert Boyd of Scotland/Ireland/Cumberland PA (b abt 1705). I know that groups of families tended to remain together and I was hoping that there might be someone out there that was aware of a Boyd-Ker(r) connection that would show some relationship between these three Boyd ministers who were all involved with the Ker family. Thanks, Maria
