I am looking for any relationship between Rev. John Boyd of Old Scots Presbyterian Church and Rev. William Boyd of Lamington NJ. Rev. John Boyd was the first Presbyterian minister to be ordained in the Presbyterian church in the colonies. I think he may have come to this country with a group of his fellow believers in 1685 on the ship - Henry and Francis. Walter Ker was also on this ship which disembarked at Perth Amboy NJ. Walter Ker was instrumental in Rev. John Boyd becoming the pastor of Old Scots Presbyterian Church in about 1706. Rev. William Boyd was the son of Capt. Robert Boyd who was b abt 1705 to Scottish parents and who migrated to Cumberland Valley PA abt 1735. Rev. William Boyd (b 1757)and his brother - Rev. John Boyd (b1762) both had pastorates in NJ in the latter 1700s. Rev. William Boyd was married to Catherine Ker Taylor - the greatgranddaughter of Walter Ker. And there were members of this Ker family in both William's and John's churches. Rev. John Boyd - William's brother - was married to Margaret Gaston. Does anyone have any information about the relationships between any of these people? Maria
