I am tracing several Boyd families from the Chester area. One William Boyd, b abt 1735 was Deputy Surveyor in Chester District, SC, before and after the American Revolution. Land sales in Deed Books A and E in the Chester County Court House show that his wife was Ann Boyd. They had three sons (at least) James, Charles and William. After Ann died, he married Mary Cloud. I also have a William Boyd, b 1745, of Newberry District who had a brother Robert, b aft 1700. This William settled in the Chester County area of SC around 1772. The family were members of the Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, near Blackstock, Chester Co, SC. This William was married to Mary Dorman and Robert was married to Mary Peoples.
