Harry, Collier's Station is/was in Brook Co. VA/WV in the panhandle. My Boyd's hail from Cecil Co. MD right next door to New Jersey. I know that my Boyd clan were in the Chester Co. PA area, it is such a short distance, it would be easy to include New Jersey. Hugh and Alexander are popular among the family, as well as Robert & Francis. My gr, gr grandfather was born in about 1771 and according to the 1850 census he was born in Maryland. Is this the time period you are talking about? It sounds very possible there could be a connection if we are talking about the same time period. None of the first names fit. William Boyd married Rebecca Austin in 1813 in (W) Va. She is also listed as born in Maryland. Her parents were John and Sarah Austin. Rebecca was born in 1796. As you can see she was much younger than him! Harry, Do you know if John and Sarah might have had a son named John Austin Boyd who could have miagrated to Mississippi? Any help is appreciated.
