Hello!! William died on Sept. 24, 1856 in Monongalia Co. Va., now W.Va. His gravestone records say 85yrs 6mo. and 13days aged. That figures to a birthdate of March 11, 1771. The 1850 census says born in Maryland. A biographical sketch on an Indiana County history website is availavle on the Internet. The sketch is on his son Cornelius Boyd, a farmer in Delaware Co. Indiana. From that information I learned they had been in New Jersey and move to Va. from there. In the 1810 Mon. Co. census there is an AN. BOYD listed and also an AN.W. BOYD. From that I believe his fathers name was Andrew Or Andrew William Boyd. What area do your Boyd ancestors come from. There were also and Andrew and Archibald in Fayette Co. Pa. which is just accross the state line from Mon. Co. W. Va.
