Yes, does one mention them? or not? I can remember as a child trying to listen to the adults and their secrets! Did they really say cousin X was not the child of Uncle X?? How can that be? DNA tests could easily show that a male child is or is not in the Surname line. But the DNA tests used thus genealogically definitely Do Not indicate who is or was the actual male parent. There are some tests that follow the female line back, but those don't yield a Surname, as the females change names when they marry (in our culture). Still it would be interesting to learn that one's grgr grandmother came from Eng or Spain, or ?? And all the gen. DNA testers have promised to release the info anonymously except to the submitter. 2. I have two children, one of whom is adopted but as much mine as if we were connected by DNA. I'm always a little hesitant to talk about genealogy and "family" around him lest he feel left out. Of course I happen to know his biological family is even older than my biological family and is English, Scottish and German, just as mine is. He is certainly in the family Bible but wouldn't be in the line by DNA On Jul 12, 2005, at 4:01 PM, Matboyd304@aol.com wrote: > > In a message dated 7/12/2005 1:13:41 A.M.
