    3. Hi all, Just a little name difference and the causes I have found. 1.With some German immigrations the name was put on paper as it sounded, as the education level of all people at the time were far less than people of today. 2. Some family members didn't want to be found by others, they would either add a letter or drop a letter i.e. LINDERMAN LINDEMAN LINDEMANN, SMITH SMYTH SMYTHE I have found folks in my own family that removed the R in the name, as to not be noticed in the news papers of the day. Hap Smith searching:SMITH LINDERMAN BOYD BURRINGTON LOCKWOOD HUNTER TOWNE P.S. Do a spell check, you will see what I mean. The many different ways to spell names.. ----- Original Message ----- From: <agfoster@headscheme.com> To: <CLANBOYD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 06, 2005 9:33 PM Subject: Re: [Boyd] BOYDE > And I am a world traveller by choice.
