Anna - Some of the Boyds left Scotland because of the English crown. When the English crown tried to force the Scots to follow their leader and not our own there was a small problem. Mary, Queen of Scots, was beheaded and so a war ensued. I do believe that most of the Boyd lines came from the area of Ayr in Scotland and had lost our title when our ancestor followed Bonnie Prince Charlie instead of the English King. You can read up on it in most history books. By the way that person was obviously not a true Boyd. I am a U.S. Navy vet and there isn't much of anything that can make me blush.
