Hap, I have Edward Boyds in my family line and they are from Michigan. They roots descend from NY. Would love to know if our families are one-in-the-same. Do you have any names of your ancestors further up the line than your G-grandfather. There are many Boyds in Michigan and I have been adding them to my ancestry tree on a regular basis. My dream is to get enough family in Michigan to have a Boyd family reunion in Michigan. Great dream for someone who lives in Oklahoma. I do, however, put together our family reunion in Minnesota for my mother's side. My g-grandfather left NY and went to SD and then to MN. One of the brothers went to Oregon, one to Wisconsin, a few siblings stayed in NY, one of the sisters moved back to Canada, but most of the brothers went to Michigan. There were 12 children born to my GG Grandparents, John and Elizabeth Boyd of St. Lawrence County, Lisbon Town, NY. John was bound for NY and for some unknown reason got off the ship in Canada. In Quebec he married his wife Elizabeth in 1843 and between 1859 and Feb 1860 they moved to Lisbon, NY. I am going to the 4th of July parade, then to my brother's house and have a cook-out and swim. I am always interested when I hear the name "Elizabeth Boyd", but it never seems to be MY Elizabeth Boyd. My G-grandmother was Elizabeth Jane Boyd, b. 1858 in New Albany (Rockford) Indiana, d. 1936 in Detroit. Married Asbury Carey Brenchley. I can't seem to find anything about them in the 1880 or 1900 census. Does anyone have any information on Elizabeth? I thought New Albany, Indiana was in Floyd County - or is Rockford the town?
