The Annie Boyd-John MacMurray family ended up in Passaic/Nutley NJ which I think is pretty near Patterson. We think they settled there because they all went to work in the woolen and silk mills but if there are Boyds there it might also be because of family. I can tell you of my family that went to Nutley in 1937 so if you should see Boyds there, that's my family. We are from Baltimore & Frederick MD originally. I don't know about Patterson NJ altho I knew a Scot who worked at the dye works there (commuted from NYC!) I didn't remember any MacMurrays in Nutley.
