Thanks Al, The time frame is about right for my John Boyd, but I can't prove a thing on him. Just have his name off a death certificate. However a son was born in Halifax VA in 1816 and some were born in TN and some in SC so it seems like a dead end for my "John". Although I think his son David was in SC at one point.
