    1. [ClanBoyd] Kinard Boyd
    2. Godisloved
    3. Fellow Listers, Does anyone know more about Kinard Boyd than is contained in the Spring 2003 issue of "Itawamba Settlers Magazine"? According to the information in the magazine Elizabeth's father Jacob died and she had a hard time collecting the inherritance due to her (somewhere in the 1842 area of time). Elizabeth and her husband, Kinard, were living in Tennessee and her father died in Itawamba County, MS. She and her sister Mary both had difficulties in this regard. I am hoping that one of you knows more about Kinard. Since I have both Kinard and Boyd connections in the correct locations the possibilities have me spinning. I do not wish to leap to conclusions, and have not been able to find anything definitive on Kinard's family connections. Kinards are definitely associated with Itawamba County and Boyds are definitely associated with Tennessee. Of course I'm hoping there is a connection. My Boyd connection is Elizabeth Boyd who married John Dixon (B: 1795) in Bedford Co., TN. They moved to Wayne County, TN and had many children. John is known to have fathered 26 children. Is there someone on the list associated with Kinard who knows his history and can give me some direction with this? Respectfully, Deborah 3 Nails + 1 Cross = 4 Given

    1. [ClanBoyd] Help save some Boyd Property
    2. RichBoyd
    3. Hello fellow Boyd family members, We need your help. We're trying to stop the break up of our grandfather's farm in Fullerton, CA. The farm was built in 1925 and was a working farm providing fruit and vegetables to the surrounding community, free for the asking, until approx 1980. The family members that inherited the land, who are in their 70's and 80's, were recently tricked into selling the land far below fair market value by a step family member and an unscrupulous land developer. We've contacted the buyer and tried to buy the land back, but he knows the lands true value and plans to develop it into housing, rather than sell it back. We’re trying to delay the development pending a legal investigation of the sale. Here is what we'd like you to do. Email the Fullerton City planning commission: Joel Rosen (chief Planner) JoelR@ci.fullerton.ca.us Melanie Mullis (Senior Planner) MelanieM@ci.fullerton.ca.us Jay Eastman (Associate Planner Historic program) JayE@ci.fullerton.ca.us and tell them that as a Boyd family member you oppose PRJ03-00745 and PM-2003-209. Then contact every other Boyd family member you know and ask them to do the same. Please copy me at pfm@fda.net, so I can update the family on the fight. Because you don't live within 300 feet of the proposed development, you have no say in the matter. But we're hoping that a large volume of Boyd family objections in conjunction with the community signatures we're collecting will persuade the planning commission to stop the development until we can get the matter into court and hopefully return the land to the family. Thank you for you support and give 'em hell. Mark Boyd pfm@fda.net Confido!

    3. I am still searching for the parents of Abbott Francis Boyd. I found a Martha Abbott and William Boyd who were married in 1846 in Jefferson County, MS who because of the Abbott last name, I thought there might be a connection. Does anyone have any information on Martha and William? I havenot been able to find anything but their marriage. Here is what I have on Abbott Francis Boyd: Abbott Boyd born 16 Aug 1854 in MS and died 22 May 1883 in Arkansas. In 1870 he was on the Chickasaw MS census with Druscill Ivy (age 74) and brothers William and Henry. On 19 Dec 1876 Abbott married Amaranda Prudence Coopwood in Tallachatchie MS. Children were Ivy Boyd born 10 Nov 1877 in MS and William Lafayette Boyd (my grandfather) born 22 Sep 1879 in MS. In 1880 the family was on the Arkansas census. Thanks for any help.
