Folks, I received this today and thought some of you might be interested. I haven't done business with these people before. Rich Boyd, List Admin New CDs from Family History Scotland..... Scotland County (Rural) Directory 1912 A postal directory of rural residences, farms and mansions with names of occupants. This includes areas of Scotland that the main post office directories do not necessarily cover. Typical entries include name, occupation, name of residence and address. Information has been obtained through the Postmasters in Scotland. Professional names in the cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the town of Greenock are not included. Searchable by address or name. Also included are over 150 pages of information on towns and villages, most with names of clergy, town clerk, registrars etc. An incredibly useful resource for locating non city-dwelling ancestors. Edinburgh and Leith Post Office Directory 1852 Almost 500 pages of details of heads of households, addresses and occupations from mid-19th century Edinburgh. A perfect companion and starting point to using the1851 census. Directories from the time are very rare and usually only found in governmeny archives. Included in this book is a general, street, trades and county directory. There are also directories relating to law, parliament, public offices, banks, convenancing and insurance companies. http://www.familyhistoryscotland.co.uk
I am looking for the family of Joseph Boyd born in Peach Orchard, Lawrence County KY. He was born about 1850's or 1860's. Thanks, Mary Neal

Hi Natalie, You might try posting this to the two Boyd mailing lists and see if you can get help there with your question. I will copy this to the lists for you. Good luck in your search. Tom, Stop by the Boyd Trees data base, and check for members of your family. If you don't see them, then send me a family file in GEDCOM or FTW format, and I will add you for the next update: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=boyd-trees John H. Everyone please welcome Staff Seargent Thomas J. Boyd to the list!
I have finally updated the file at Boyd-Trees, on World Connect. We now have 130,000 individuals with 10-12,000 BOYD's. I personally have found several cousins because of the listing in World Connect, and receive several e-mails a week about people in this file. If your family isn't included, you are missing a great opportunity to find other family members and researchers. Check at: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=boyd-trees The following people have contributed to Boyd Trees, but their e-mail is apparently no longer working.
