    3. Folks, I have Netscape 7.1 as my Browser. Netscape browsers come with a mail option under preferences and you tell them your isp and e- mail address and set your default with Netscape then under mail preferences you can elect to have attachments appear in line with the rest of the message. I will also remind you to have a good Anti- Virus Program such as Norton or McAfee. However, most ISP have excellent virus detection software installed on their mail servers which will block any e-mail that has been scanned and has a virus imbedded in the message or an attachment. I find that the view attachment in- line option works great with mailing list digests from rootsweb as I do not have to open them one by one. Yours Aye, David D. 3. Karen it appears that you receiving the clanboyd digest mode. The plain text emails to the mailing list are combined into a group and then come in as a single attachment. This is an attachment that should not be a problem as they are all plain text. However if you feel uncomfortable about this format, unsubscribe from the clanboyd digest list and only subscribe to the regular list, there are never any attachments with this one and it is plain text. There is a clear (not green) Boyd Mason jar for sale at http://search.rubylane.com/search/,id=0.html If you will do a search on Boyd jar....you should find it. It has a price of $14 on it. (Tip: when searching for Boyd items on ebay or Rubylane, etc type: -bears after Boyd in the search line. That way you don't get all that Boyd bear stuff.) I have 20+ green Boyd Jars but no clear ones. The clear ones are very hard to find but I think I'll pass on this one. You can see a green one and the history of these green Boyd jars on my web site: http://clanboyd.info/business/jar My wife uses the two quart jars as cannisters for sugar, flour, coffee, etc. Rich Boyd

    3. sorry no, I'm looking for info on Stanley Ezell Boyd married to Letha Ellen Green (my Grandfather and Grandmother) Stanley list Canada as his birthplace in the 1930 census but Cairo, Michigan as his birthplace on his SS application. Michigan has no record of him being born there, so I'm at a loss as to where to look next, I suspect he came into the United States near the Michigan border. On his death certificate, my Uncle listed my Grandfather's parents names as William and Agnes Keith Boyd,Canada, everyone since has deceased so I can't verify anything. he worked in the Coal Mines in Birmingham, Ala. then to Pensacola, Florida where he died in 1968. 1. Re: Johnny "Buckles" - son of John Boyd, Sr.
    2. For those of you who have asked about John Boyd, Jr. (Johnny Buckles), he was said to have moved to Kentucky sometime after 1800 and returned to Newberry about 1814. He is found in the 1810 census for Pulaski County, KY. Some of his children stayed there, some are said to have moved to Tennessee, and some went back to Newberry. John "Buckles" died in Newberry County in 1827 and gave the names of all his children and grandchildren in his will --- all 46 of 'em. The will is in Book L, p. 181, Newberry County, written 12 Feb 1823, proven 17 March 1827. I first learned of these Boyds from an excellent book written by George Hugh Boyd and Rosalie Brown Boyd called, "Our Boyd Family, Allied Families, deGraffenried, Tidwell, Milam, Patton." At that time, I didn't know these Boyds were connected to mine ... at least now I can make a reasonable assumption that they are. The book was written in the 1960s and Mr. Boyd finished the first part on the early Boyds by 1965. He then passed away and his wife finished it, bringing the Boyds into Georgia and writing about the ones who were in Meriwether, Pike, Fayette and Campbell counties. While Mr. Boyd made the mistake of assuming my Robert was a grandson of John Sr., as did many others, the book is beautifully written and has some great stories about John Buckles' son, John Boyd, known as Wagonner Jack. I have transcribed the first part of the book into an MS Word document (the part on the early Boyds in Newberry) and would be happy to send it in a PRIVATE e-mail if you will contact me off list. I have not transcribed the entire book. There is no copyright either expressed or implied, however, to be on the safe side, let's keep the correspondence private. This would be the same as my letting you borrow my book, in my opinion. It is for your personal use. Please use this as any other source, and give credit if you use parts of it on your Web site or on your family tree. If you want me to send it, DO NOT REPLY TO THE LIST as it will only clutter it with useless messages. Reply to me at jodieK444@aol.com. Also, two years ago, I did a column on these Boyds for my local newspaper, and gave more information on the Fayette and Campbell County (GA) Boyds, in addition to the earlier ones. It is in three parts. If you would like to read this, go to www.thecitizennews.com, and scroll down until you see my column on the right ... "Genealogy." Click on that and it will take you to the most recent column. Up on the left is a link to past columns. You want Sept. 13, 20 and 27, 2002, "Boyds from Ballymena to Bethany." I sincerely hope this may help someone make a Boyd connection. If you are a descendant of John Boyd of Ballymena, you will love this book. Judy Kilgore Newnan, GA
