    1. Re: [Boyd] Boyd - Passaic Co., NJ
    2. Jan Curtis
    3. Passaic Co. was formed in 1837 from Bergen & Essex counties. The only records the county has is divorce records from 1947, civil court records (law suits) from 1900, and some land records. You might want to look in Essex County (Newark) - the county clerk has marriage records from 1795-1886, civil court records from 1936; Clerk of the Superior Court has divorce records...Co. Surr. has probate records; Registrar of Deeds has land records. 3. You may want to do a search for a parish record on your gr.grandfather...they were big on baptism, but not necessarily birth cert. I went to the LDS Family History Center & looked up parish records in Scotland, and found mine. I was named after my grandmother ie Helen Boyd as she was known as, my first name was after my g.grandfather Alexander Boyd and my father who was David Alexander Wilson, thus the Alexandra.
