    1. [CLAN-KINCAID] intro - James Kincaid of Campsie

    3. Hello I have just re-started my research into my Kincaid ancestors after focussing on some of the other lines - I am a Morrison by birth and there have been some interesting DNA developments with that clan, something I see is also under discussion here. I noticed while browsing the list archives that someone had commented on the information on my website at http://www.perryweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/new%20family%20history.html so others may be interested in having a look, although I must admit the Kincaids only play a fairly small part in the story so far! I am a descendant of James Kincaid and Isabella Baird of Campsie via their daughter Isabella who married Thomas Morrison (whose father Duncan had migrated to Campsie from Comrie, in Perthshire) - my great-grandparents. The whole family seems to have worked in the calico industry - James Kincaid was described as a gas maker in one census, and his brother John lived with the Morrisons for a time and was a gas engineer. There were also some pattern makers etc in the family. My great-grandfather himself was a clerk to the company. Isabella sadly died young and we think she had been in poor health for a while as there were some servants recorded as living with them in one of the census records. The grave of my great-grandparents is in front of the big ruined church in Lennoxtown. I am in touch with a second cousin on this side of the family and I've discovered that almost all the male people from then until the present day were scientists or engineers. Unfortunately I have not made contact with any male Kincaids who could 'represent' us for DNA testing! However I will be interested to hear from anyone who thinks they may be connected. best wishes, Sheila ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Answers - Got a question? 3. Sheila, We are glad you are researching Kincaid ancestors again. We have seen several of your posts on the Rootsweb Stirlingshire, Scotland List, including some on James and Isabella. It is good to see you agree with Peter A. Kincaid of Canada on the parents of James being John Kincaid and Agnes Allen. We look forward to your further Kincaid research and wish you Godspeed on finding one of James and Isabella's male line to do the Kincaid DNA test! Don W.
