A chairde, The reason I started this thread was to let folks know - who did not know already - that there was a great variety of battle flags carried by Southern troops. Along the way, I had to do some more research and learn a bit myself, i.e., that the 1st National wasn't immediately discarded in favor of Beauregard's and Johnston's flag.
