My great-granduncle, Captain Michael Donovan Purtell, was wounded on 10 May 1864 somewhere near Spotsylvania Courthouse. I know that he was evacuated to a hospital in Washington, D.C. where he died on 13 May 1864. Does anyone know where I could obtain information on the Hospital, Death Certificate, etc.?
