All enlisted men are entitled to $2 per month additional pay for re-enlisting, and $1 per month for each subsequent period of five years' service, provided they re-enlist within one month after the expiration of their term. Volunteers and militia, when called into service of the United States, are entitled to the same pay, allowances, &c., as regulars.
