Oh JOY!! I went back and tried again, this time just typing in the last name and not typing in a state of service. I got a LOT of listings of a John H. Moody, but TWO of them I'm sure are my gggrandfather - one in an Unassigned U.S. Volunteer Infantry, and the other in the 2nd U.S. Volunteer Infantry.
