    3. To: A J Stewart -- Forgive me if I offended you. My father was a proud Southerner too and he did more for poor and underprivileged people with his time and wealth than any man I ever knew. He came from families where both sides fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, but I never once heard him blow his horn about that or any historic genealogy organizations. He was an example for me of humility and devotion which is why I am seeking to find his family's Civil War connections....not so I can be DAR or DOC. You can be proud of what and who you are, but it needs to go beyond that in my estimation. I certainly did not mean for my remarks to stir any anger that still exists over the War. I never knew a finer Southern gentleman than my father, but I also never knew a finer lady than my Northern mother....I was blessed from both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line. Please forgive me. Jean
