He was 14 at the time of his enlistment and was captured and sent to Point Lookout. He did survive and returned to Botetourt to marry and have 12 children. My husband's great grandfather, Nathaniel Simmons, was also from Botetourt and also was captured and I believe sent to Point Lookout. I would like to know more about the circumstances of their capture and release. I also think it would be interesting if they knew each other. Thanks. Dottie
