A new book about women who actually fought in the Civil War is now available: "They Fought Like Demons: Women Soldiers in the American Civil War" by DeAnne Blanton and Lauren M. Cook. While conducting their research, the authors learned that at the Battle of Gettysburg, Confederate women casualties included one dead, one probably killed and one whose leg was amputated.
