Hi Brenda, It looks as thought there isn't that much information on Archibald Hensley in "North Carolina Troops 1861-1865: A Roster. I didn't know if you knew it or not or wanted the information on all the other Hensley's from Yancey County in his company, but there were several. Present or accounted for until wounded in the head and captured at the North Anna River, Virginia, May 23, 1864. Hospitalized at various Federal hospitals until confined at Old Capital Prison, Washington, D.C., July 30, 1864. Transferred to Elmira, New York, August 12, 1864. Reduced to ranks while a prisoner of war. Troops HENSLEY, WILSON, Private Resided in Yancey County where he enlisted at age 23, May 1, 1861. Mustered in as Private. Present or accounted for until captured at Falling Waters, Maryland, July 14, 1863. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, until paroled and transferred to City Point, Virginia, where he was received March 6, 1864, for exchange. Promoted to Sergeant subsequent to October 31, 1864. Present of accounted for until captured at Hatcher's Run, Virginia, April 2, 1865. Confined at Hart's Island, New York Harbor, until released on June 17, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance. ----------------------------------------------------- I wish I had more on Archibald Hensley, but I don't.
