Appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War. Enlisted at Rock Island Barracks, Ill., in the U. S. Army for frontier service, October 13, 1864. Roll dated Headquarters, Rock Island Barracks Rock Island Ill. November 7, 1864. I an trying to find out what unit in the U. S. Army he may have enlisted in and where he may have went from Rock Island. I visited Rock Island Arsenal recently and found out that the 3rd Regiment, New York Infantry was recruiting in that area at that time, but they had no information on that unit or who might have been recruited. Does any one have any info on the 3rd New York? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Mike Mauldin Kmm70525@cox-internet.com
