Pvt. Needham H Temples was in the Co. E Shubuta Guards of Clarke Co., 37th Infantry Regiment...They were sent to Columbus Ms May - June. July and Aug were sent to Saltillo. Sept - Oct were in Camp Rogers Near Waterford . I believe he may have became sick in Columbus or Saltillo as the records show he was Sick 30 Aug until he died on 20th Oct 1862..His brother Lorenzo was sick and sent to Lauderdale Springs near Meridian. However he got well and died in 1917. He is buried in the First Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery near Laurel Ms. Hope this helps Thomas Temple

Thomas, Do the CMSR's of Pvt Needham H. Temples show that he was sick in hospital, or just sick? Was his brother Lorenzo in the same unit? Is it possible from the information you have that Needham was sent to Lauderdale Springs, also? Does any lister know if there were confederate hospitals near Columbus, Saltillo or Lauderdale Springs, MS? Thomas, do you have Pvt Needham H. Temples CMSR from NARA and the Mississippi State Archives, too? Sometimes there may be different information in the two sets of records.
