I have heard from the persons who are selling the Marker. The email is below. I responded to them that I do not know what the marker is but it is they who called it a Grave Marker. I gave them the email address of the SUV and told them to ask if they know what it is and perhaps the SUV will purchase it from them to put it in a proper place. ................................. >Hello. I had a question for you... are you sure this wasn't just presented to the family for them to put it where they wanted? The people we got it from said it was to do with their distant relative and that their parents had been keeping it in their front yard as a remembrance. Is it possible this could be the situation? Thanks. Bob & Craig<
To BOB & Craig MARKERS such as these are for the Grave site and if you go to cemeteries where there are Civil War Dead you will see other Memorials like this from the GAR and also the Confederate organization. The SELLING of such a MARKER is like stealing from a grave. That is why there are Laws against removing it from a Grave site and selling it. There is a location of the grave and The MARKER is to be returned where it Belongs. Is would be to your benefit to see that it is returned to the Relative who is concerned and placed on the original grave site where it belongs.
