I am trying to find the Civil War record of Thomas Dobbins Spencer whose family settled in White County, Indiana. I need to find out what company he was assigned to and would like to be able to get a history of their battles. Any suggestions as to what records to look at?? GO TO htt://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ There you will find under "Soldiers" (7) SPENCER, Thomas. Forget the 7th he has middle initial of "M" The Regiment is listed - click on each Regiment and it's history comes up. Each was started in Indianapolis. If you click on the battles the story comes up.
