    3. Thank you for introducing me to your SITE. Very interesting. Richard Callard -----Original Message----- From: Berlindog@aol.com [mailto:Berlindog@aol.com] Sent: Monday, October 06, 2003 8:27 AM To: CIVIL-WAR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [CIVIL-WAR] Civil War web site In a message dated 10/6/2003 12:49:35 AM Central Standard Time, Wseone56@aol.com writes: This whole matter needs to be discussed privately. It is quite annoying to open up my daily email and find childish jibberish on a site that should be kept strictly to the subject matter of the CIVIL WAR. ______________________________________ As the Rootsweb Administrator of [8] Lists and [11] Boards, I assure you that I know what is off topic for a Rootsweb List. I didn't fall off of a turnip wagon yesterday.... For the sake of the other Listers and the Admin of this List, I won't go back over why my posts were on the correct subject matter.... I thought I'd post the URL for my own Civil War web site for those of you who like to peruse Civil War sites. As you'll notice, in addition to the expected Civil War info, I've incorporated my genealogy and my husband's genealogy into our Civil War site.... BTW, I also changed the subject title of your post because your subject title is in direct violation of Rootsweb List guidelines.... 3. Sherri, As a part of my home library, I have a small book titled "Historical Record: City of Savannah" by F.D. Lee and J.L. Agnew. The book is an original, and was printed in Savannah, Georgia in 1869 by J.H. Estill, Morning News Steam-Power Press. My reason for wanting to let you know about this book is that it was owned by George W. Bagby, and has his signature in it, as well as a sticker which says, Mrs. Geo. W. Bagby, Richmond, Va. There is also a modern photocopy of a picture of Mr. Bagby in it. It was copied from "The Old Virginia Gentlemen and Other Sketches" by George W. Bagby, edited and arranged by his daughter, Ellen M. Bagby. It's a wonderful little book and so full of good history; history as written before our modern day PC history. I just wanted to let you know about this small book as I wasn't sure if this George W. Bagby was indeed the man who was your ancestor. Edward Harding Washington, NC eharding2@cox.net
