    3. Here's a bit of genealogical information on Harvey J. Sprague that I hope might be of help. 1850 U.S. Census (July 25, 1850) Bridgewater, Windsor County, Vermont Father: George Sprague - Age 42, Farmer, Born in Vermont Mother: Tenith (sp) Sprague - Age 38, Housekeeper, Born in Vermont Children: Harvey - Age 9 George - Age 7 Polly - Age 4 Edward - Age 2 1880 U.S. Census (June 3, 1880) Woodstock, Windsor County, Vermont Harvey J. Sprague - Age 36, Laborer Eliza A. Sprague - Age 32. Wife & Housekeeper Children: Francis (Son) - Age 11 Mabel A. (Daughter) - Age 8 Edith (Daughter) - Age 3 Mother: Susan - Age 65 Brother: George - Age 35 Brother: Charles - Age 26 1890 Veterans Schedule: Eleventh Census of the U.S. , Special Schedule: Surviving Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, and Widows June 1890 House #52 Family #52 Rank: Private Unit: Company G 10th Regiment Vermont Infantry Date of Enlistment: July 21, 1862 Date of Discharge: June 22, 1865 Served: 2 Years, 11 Months, 1 Day No Disabilities from the War I noticed there is a difference in the mother's name between the 1850 and the 1880 U.S. Federal Census. In the 1850 Census, the writing appears as though it is spelled Tenith (sp), but in the 1880 Census, her name is definitely shown as Susan. Also, there is a difference in his enlistment date. On everything I found, including Mike Ruddy's information, it shows as August 8, 1862. On the actual census record on the Veterans Schedule, it was written in as July 21, 1862. I'm wondering if this was information Mr. Sprague gave from memory to the census taker. Evidently, with all of the other records showing 8/8/1862, I would think this 8/8/1863 is the correct date as it was taken from service records. I'm hoping this bit of information might be of some help on Harvey J. Sprague. Edward Harding
